Client: The Sherford Consortium / Taylor Wimpy / Bovis Homes / Linden Homes
Units: 5,500 New Homes
Type: Residential, Commercial and Community use
Planned completion: 2035
TriConnex have been appointed by the Sherford Consortium to undertake the design, installation and connection of the Electricity and Gas Network, and coordinate the design of the water and telecoms network at their flagship development in Devon.
Within the initial phase of the project, TriConnex have been able to demonstrate their value through early engagement with the consortium design teams and have influenced both the overall site layout and assisted the consortium in discharging specific planning conditions based around a coordinated utilities approach.
TriConnex have also been contracted to design and build an 11MVA Primary Substation and coordinate the delivery of 2 community trust wind turbines which form part of an overall planning condition placed on the Sherford development.
To date the offsite gas and electrical works have been completed 6 months ahead of programme and are located at the site boundary in preparation of being allowed full access to the site.
Sherford New Market Town is the largest housing development site in the South West and through successfully securing this project, this has given TriConnex the platform needed in order to begin in making significant inroads into the South West utility market.
“TriConnex have really impressed me with their knowledge and understanding of us as a housebuilding client. What has been really important is that they have made utilities ‘easy’, it all just happens when they say it will happen and they are normally chasing us for decisions and information rather than the other way round. I would have no hesitation in recommending them”.
Special Projects Manager, Linden Homes South West
TriConnex will get involved in your project from the very beginning. Through close communication early on at the pre-acquisition and tendering phases, we gain a clear understanding of your needs and can advise of the best range of solutions for your project.
We deliver an essential service, not a product and this stage is our overall goal – to get you connected and your project handed over on time.
The next stage is to translate the agreed technical solution into a buildable reality. The focus is on the intricate detail here and all relevant third party stakeholders are contacted with this in mind. Importantly safety risks are clarified at this stage and relevant risk assessments carried out where required.
On-site installation falls to our dynamic Operations Department. Experienced Operations Managers are supported by our qualified site teams, who will integrate with your own site team to ensure consistent and flexible delivery no matter what the needs of the project.
This stage overlaps with both design and installation and is when the necessary resources are secured and allocated to the project.
The next stage in your journey, or perhaps the first if the project is ready to go, is to more thoroughly assess the deliverability of the project, bearing in mind your detailed build and programme requirements.
